8.2 Cell respiration

 

 
Glycolysis
Glycolysis is the splitting of glucose in the cytoplasm, to release a small amount of energy. It comprises the following four stages:

• Phsophorylation of Glucose
• Lysis (splitting)
• Oxidation
• ATP formation
